WHY WE EXIST

OUR STORY

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp, and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

Frontline Church launched on Easter of 2005, with around 50 people gathering together in Josh and Nancy Kouri’s living room. This once-small group has now grown into multiple congregations, with active plans to plant more churches in the upcoming years.

A CHURCH FOR THE CITY

We are a church for the city. We want to see the city flourish for the glory and fame of God. We pray for and work toward the well-being of the city. To that purpose, we believe God has called us to be on the front lines of all He is doing in Oklahoma and beyond.

OUR MISSION

MULTIPLYING GOSPEL COMMUNITIES

The more we experience the love of God through the gospel, the more we long to love God, love people, and push back darkness in our world. When we speak about this as the “mission" of Frontline Church, we’re talking about the vision, the goal, the heartbeat of all we do as a church. We want to see gospel communities multiplied across Oklahoma and around the world. Gospel communities are people together, in groups of all shapes and sizes, because of Jesus, with Jesus, under Jesus, and for Jesus.

LOVE GOD

Jesus tells us that the highest virtue is to love God with all of our being. Our love for God is a response to his love for us. The only reasonable response to God’s love for us in the gospel is to love him in return. ‘And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”’ Matthew 22:37-38

LOVE PEOPLE

When we see the love God has for us in the gospel, we not only respond with love toward God, but we respond by loving each other in gospel community. Jesus tells us that, next to loving God, this is the most important commandment. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34

PUSH BACK DARKNESS

We love God and love people, but we also care about the people who live in darkness without God. We care about what God cares about. Our gospel communities must go and push back darkness through gospel proclamation and kingdom demonstration. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
